Idò DO Balear is a taste of the Balearic Islands in the very centre of Barcelona. Found in the “it” neighbourhood of Sant Antoni, this restaurant has a little bit of everything that makes Balearic gastronomy unique.
The space is big and bright, and the walls are lined with products from the Islands. Cheese, jam, sausage, wine … almost everything in the menu can be purchased to take home with you, including the ensaimadas, a certain kind of bun made in Mallorca that is taking Barcelona by storm. Everything sold here comes from small businesses, guaranteeing a quality product that maintains the best of the Islands’ traditions.
The menu has something for any time of day. Start your morning with a sandwich or ensaimada, try the panada (pasta stuffed with meat, fish or vegetables) or the cocarroi (a type of dumpling baked with vegetables or onions) for lunch, snack Balearic-style in the afternoon and finish the day with pamboli made with brown bread, cheese, spicy sausage and paté, all washed down with Island wine. All their recipes are 100% traditional, without fusion or modern adaptations – just honest food that smells and tastes like classic Balearic cuisine.
