A place to share, enjoy a good coffee and where you can eat everyone. These are the three premises with which Juan and Pablo, two Argentines settled in Madrid, decided to open La Colectiva Café, a cafeteria where you can enjoy a good cup of coffee comfortably.
La Colectiva Café opened its doors in early 2017 to offer a comfortable place in Madrid to meet around a table to catch up on work. Juan and Pablo, the two partners, are lovers of coffee and wanted to offer in La Colectiva what they did not find in other cafes they frequented.
Finding the place was complicated. They found it on Fernando de Rojas Street, in the heart of Chamberí. The room, with a large glass door, invites anyone who walks down this street to enter. The Colectiva Café is a beautiful space of two floors. At the foot of the street and with a Nordic decoration where wood predominates, there are high and low tables to sit and enjoy your snack; While in the basement, with a vintage style, is perfect for a meeting or to work, as it has a special area for freelancers. Besides being the perfect place to forget Madrid’s heat.
As they say, La Colectiva Café is a place for everyone, since it is a vegan cafe, so its cakes can be taken by anyone who wants it, “among our customers we have many intolerant to the egg, having this No Cake, allows these customers to eat our foods.” In addition, they have a great variety of vegetable milk, for which they do not charge extra, although they have fresh milk for those who prefer it.
The cakes are another reason to go to La Colectiva Café. They are all made by Pablo in the workshop that they have in the basement. They are delicious. Do not stop taking it for its color, because for the fact of working with integral products and vegetables they acquire another color to which we are not accustomed. They also take into account the seasonal product, for example, their juices (a green juice and a red one) are varying their composition according to the seasonal fruit.
Their salty menu is in the process of being expanded, as they currently have a small offer for everyone who goes at noon made up of gazpacho, vegan quiches with whole dough and toast.
As a good cafeteria, in La Colectiva Café they take into account one of their main products: Coffee. That’s why they do not have fixed toasters, but they have a wide range of different coffees so that everyone can take what they like. Vicky (as they call it between them) is the machine they chose to make this drink. “We decided to opt for a” Arduino Victoria because it is more ergonomic and much more accurate to calibrate the coffee “.
Juan and Pablo have managed to create a cafeteria in which to feel at home, in which to drink a good coffee and in which to chat calmly with friends. A collective café where anyone will find a drink and a sweet that suits their palate.
