In the heart of Sant Cugat, with neon letters on the door, we find La Consentida, a space with fresh and extroverted character that invites us to come inside.
There, we meet Barbara Edo and Bernar Robles, two of the six partners at the front of La Consentida, a place where you can enjoy exquisite food accompanied by live music; The voice of Bernar and the notes of a Spanish guitar will make every meal an unforgettable evening.
We also speak with Chef Fabrizio Mantini, who emphasizes the high quality ingredients that they use in their kitchen to offer the best product and a great variety of dishes.
In his menu we can find great diversity of dishes ranging from the most exotic flavors – variety of sushi prepared right at the bar – to meats, fish and rice. In addition to a weekly menu of 16 euros per diner to choose between ten first dishes and ten second dishes, dessert and drink.
For starters, we sampled an assortment of sushi which included eby panko with sockeye salmon, tempura king prawns, cream cheese, watercress, sockeye salmon, mustard and kaboyaki. We continue with uramaki de foie with apple, kiwi and strawberry with goat cheese, which surprises us by the great contrast of the food. Finally a Bluefinn Niguiri (tuna) marinated with the limited edition Jean Leon x 15 of DO Penedés, a white wine with citrus aromas and with a smoothness and persistence perfect to pair with fish and sushis.
Then we taste a sea bass tartar with green apple guacamole and “botarga” an exquisite and refreshing combination to have with a 3055 Rosé de Jean Leon that accentuates its freshness and red fruit flavor.
The main dish is the lamb chop with Provencal lamb with pistachio pesto, ideal to pair with the elegant and velvety taste of the red 3055 Merlot by Jean Leon .
Finally we savor a fake maki, a plate with trompeta, similar in appearance to the traditional maki, although what we find is a delicious dessert of rice with milk, strawberry jam, strawberries and a wrap of charcoal , an explosive sweet that gives the perfect ending to such exquisite tasting.
