The new gastronomic location of the emblematic district of Sant Antoni is called Sant Antoni Gloriós. The famous and revered Bohemian space has re-opened its doors after a facelift to re-stock the neighborhood with seasonal produce and a renovated kitchen.
A reopening that took place on the day of Sant Jordi. A cellar like the ones from before where you can go to enjoy a wide selection of wines and vermout, along with standout sangrias.
The most striking feature of this contemporary winery is its association with El Xampanyet del Borne. A suggestive culinary fusion between Francesc Gimeno Manduley (Mandu) , captain and architect of this new gastronomic space; And Joan Carles, friend and renowned Chef of the Xampanyet . A synergy present in an extensive menu of dishes and dishes . ” La barra del avi “, a selection of traditional dishes bearing the signature of Joan Carles. And the “net bar” that breathes modern airs with the Mandu seal.
In addition, the menu has a selection of the best preserves and a variety of first-class charcuterie. A menu made to share in a room of high tables and casual atmosphere where they reward the quality products at a competitive price. Mandu is committed to a Gourmet gastronomic proposal with dishes prepared with care and based on local products.
His name, the subject of conversation between friends in “a night of good wine and better company, ” seems to have been taken from a Revolver song. An informal winery where you can bet on good food.
To begin our lunch, we are intrigued by the bravas of Mandu prepared in the traditional way with a spicy touch . We love the mackerel and the delicate way it is served, with a yellow yogurt and chili sauce that gives it a delicious sour taste. A gastronomic pearl worthy of a gold star.
And to finish we try the cheek stew with a parmentier pastanera made with parsnip; And their Ibérico meatballs . A mandonguilles that create furor. Prepared with a tear and fan base, Mandu presents them with a yuzu mayonnaise and a popcorn topping. Delicious!
Sant Antoni Gloriós, a renovated winery with a quality gastronomic proposal in a contemporary setting. It certainly has become one of our favorites.
