Gastronomy and nature are two elements so closely related, that sometimes being able to enjoy both at the same time makes a more complete experience. The restaurant Arrayal 39, in the town of Tui on the banks of the river Miño, offers us the pleasure of enjoying a cuisine of maximum quality in a stunning natural environment and a typical Galician stone house made from the inside out, where you are able to experience all sensations any month of the year, with the fireplace on or on the most spectacular terrace.
The concept of Arrayal 39 is to combine different ingredients to get the best combination. A warm and elegant staging in the interior space, which boasts a loving dining room, and another space outside with a unique garden and vegetation. In this context, a simple and honest kitchen creation is made, which takes advantage of the nearby raw material, so rich in wild fish from the Galician rivers, meats in a rare variety and natural and ecological vegetables.
The enclave in which the restaurant is located shows that its style of cooking is so natural and away from being over the top. All with the intention of putting plates on the table with the least amount of steps between the origin and its final result, so that their genre prevails above all, because Galicia is an inexhaustible source of supply to the kitchens that respect the most traditional recipes. The line is maintained in all other details, such as the extraordinarily well-chosen wines, which create a well-represented and balanced wine cellar, with special predilection for the Galician, or the confectionary, which deserves a special mention, since its not considered a compliment but a section as important as any other, with subtle and delicate creations.
The menu for the restaurant is relatively short in appearance, because some dishes, especially the fish, are prepared to the taste of the client. As always, the product commands and establishes a daily menu, but some starters are essential, such as the filloas stuffed with leek, zucchini and sheep cured cheese, or homemade empanadas made with whatever the market offers each day. The feira or grilled octopus, or the classic calamari with onions, which are a delight.
In order to deepen the specialties of the house, the rice with shellfish and fish presented in ceramic containers are an infallible recommendation; and the wild fish like the monkfish and the seabags can be made Galician (traditional sauce with garlic, olive oil and paprika), grilled, or even baked. In a matter of meat, the veal and the chops and lamb shoulder are delicatessen. A menu that is simple and perfect at the same time, it is impossible to make a mistake when choosing what to get.
Since 2012, the restaurant has been integrated in Tui as a traditional and efficient culinary option endowed with the greatest care and elegance. Located on the south of the province Pontevedra, 20 minutes from the city of Vigo and on the border of the neighboring Portugal, this villa is one of the jewels of Galicia and Arrayal 39 is an obligatory stop.
