It is hard to believe that Bar Canete was not always there, meters from Liceu. Only 5 years ago, through word of mouth, the establishment became recognized by locals and foreigners alike. What was spoken was true: the atmosphere, the staff, and the food were are exceptional.
The experience of going to a restaurant is not measured only by what you eat, but also by the quality of the service, and this is something that the staff at Bar Canete have in mind, making sure every dish is served by a friendly and attentive staff.
The cuisine offered is so varied, it’s best to let yourself go. Trying a few fried shrimp is a great way to start this ‘experience’. The tuna tartar, fried wontons and mascarpone cheese sauce is spectacular, and the scallops with ham, garlic and chili are a perfect fusion of products from both land and sea. For dessert, the pionono with crème brule is a great way to end your experience.
With the hours of 1:00 P.M. – 12:00 A.M., this bar has a very wide clientele ranging from Barcelona indie scene musicians to tourists who want to take advantage of their last hours in the city and say goodbye vowing that they will return not only to the city, but also to the bar. We are not surprised because we are also thinking of returning!
