Lost in the urban hustle, we find at number 68 Girona Street a small oasis called Bicnic. We crossed the threshold to a cozy space encouraged by a window through which we appreciate the brushstrokes of a hallmark design of this gastro-graphic fusion. A concept that is a result of the cohesion of the Betlem team and the Toormix design studio.
An old mannequin shop converted into a gastronomic sanctuary divided into four spaces where you disconnect from the real world and immerse yourself in a parallel reality of creation, serenity and appetite. Shop, Fast, Slow and Chef Table.
In Bicnic we breathe tranquility, style, gastronomy, nature, a cluster of feelings that we travel from top to bottom as if it were a first date. Trembling and attracted by a local who has known how to redesign the concept of a food truck in a fast format; a long informal bar with a reduced menu of tapas and dishes ideal for chopping something fast. Without leaving aside the concept of table and tablecloth nicknamed slow. Here we sit!
In the kitchen we find Victor Ferrer, neighbour and chef of the Betlem, author of a culinary menu based on fresh seasonal produce. We sit down and listen to the recommendations of Miguel, Alma and the heart of Bicnic.
We start with one of its new additions, a coca of marinated rock mullets, Kombu and tomato. We improvise with its tiradito of farm tuna served with tiger milk, sea urchin, sweet potato and a soft avocado cream. A succulent way to start our gastronomic journey.
A letter that incites us to improvise and dive between each of their inventions. Without thinking too much we opted for its more carnivorous option, a cow and eel tartar served on their own roasted marrow. A delicacy that melts in the mouth. After this orgasm we move on to another gastronomic climax with its terrine of lamb accompanied by a smoked eggplant cream, sour sauce and pesto mint and arugula.
The gold brooch is placed in dark chocolate ingot with cream and drops of hot mole oil. The end of a walk through the bowels of Bicnic, the modern version of an urban picnic between four walls where you can hide out and enjoy a delicious variety of dishes to share. Always with a bottle of wine, otherwise it wouldn’t be a good Bicnic!
