With wallpaper complete with pages from the enigmatic and sensational magazine Hello, we found the new beginnings of two gastronomic titans. Enric and Lito have managed to give a new image to this precious corner of the Plaza de la Concordia. The old L’Alegría has been converted into a retro tapas bar, with 70’s character and charisma. Bolero is a name that encourages fun.
Now when eating! Your menu is a whole declaration of intentions of a kitchen without frills. At the controls we have Guillermo, a culinary artist in charge of spicing the tapas and dishes that are necessary to the Bikini, the hallmark of a modern and simplistic Barcelona kitchen.
To wet your taste buds, the customer can be delighted with a tuna and tomato salad as well as a homemade avocado hummus with carrot, celery and radish crudes. A light way to start the particular excursion through Catalan lands in Bolero Bar.
The next touch is put a potato omelette with bread to dip it in once cut. How we like them! Sticking the knife, pushing and watching the omelette cry … a true gastronomic orgasm on our palate.
There is no Bolero without a bikini: The bikini melós de vedella on top of fried gutada and accompanied by Smoked Scamorza. Ugh … Indescribable. A wash of sensations impossible to describe with words; the only thing that comes out to say is mmmm …
And of course, our meal is accompanied by a glass of house wine that as the teacher said “Red wine is the only life you can put in a bottle.” And to end this fun evening we stuck our forks in a piece of Chocolate Cake.
This is Bolero, a gastro-literary meeting where you can enjoy a simple cuisine in the vicinity. Olé!
