If you pass in front of this establishment without paying too much attention, you could assume it is a small local shop similar to many around the area, but Bow cafeteria is much more than that.
On the other hand, Bow surprises you the second you walk through its small door, a place where not a single pillars arch reflects a traditional coffee shop view as it is, literally, at street level. Bow has a cozy design that impeccably blends the warm brick with the turquoise furniture and tropical wallpaper. Another surprise you will find here is the calmness in the air. It is located in one of the liveliest parts of Barcelona, but is the perfect oasis from the office or for those who want to peacefully enjoy the specialty coffee or wide range of snacks.
The origin of this place goes back to a conversation between friends. A friendship that came about from a common fondness of Bowie’s music, who was the inspiration of the name of their business. Their idea is inverse of coffee shops and to adapt the Anglo-Saxon tradition of brunch with granola and sandwiches. At Bow we find these things, yes, but looking from the outside in: starting with the model similar to the San Francisco shops, they have adapted to a radically local product while taking advantage of the Catalan cuisine with top-quality ingredients from nearby suppliers.
It’s what they call honest cooking: a product of quality, a simple yet effective elaboration, and a sincere presentation where the food tastes as good as it looks. Bow is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of quality coffee accompanied by a bowie (what they call their mini Catalan sausages) and a fresh-squeezed glass of orange juice from the Valencian orchard. If you come at lunchtime, there is a wide variety of dishes to choose from, all which taste equally as delicious as healthy. Their food has a strong commitment to traditional cuisine. Come as you wish and we’re certain it will be difficult to resist one of the sandwiches with different breads, or any of its sweet artisans made with organic flowers. We could quote our favorites, but it’s impossible to choose. You better come in, try it, and decide for yourself (if you can).
Whether you are looking for breakfast, lunch, coffee or a snack, this place does not disappoint. With the local products and the cozy premises that surround the Bow, it has untied and will let no one separate them.
