After converting Casa Nova Into an essential restaurant for tapas in Barcelona, Josep and Manel decided to redesign and completely change the concept of this local restaurant situated in Borne, one of the culinary epicenters of the Catalonian capital.
Previously known as a classic house of tapas in an informal space, it changed into a large success when changing Casa Nova into Ca La Brasa. Ca La Brasa became an oriented project for traditional cooking, at low heat, simmering, and carefully maintained, made with passion, on the grill, remembering the familiar and traditional way of congregating around a table with time to eat and remember the unforgettable Sundays of grilled meat in the roaster out in the camp.
Now it’s even better; it’s not just meat on the roaster but also many plates that aren’t known for their grand elaborations but are known for playing with flavors and the touch of that special smoky taste from the grill.
This establishment has gained complete respect for their food and work with simple combinations by thinking always of the food and kitchen and furthering themselves from majestic creations. They offer products that are one hundred percent fresh and present their customers with a daily collection of fresh fish and shellfish, with no bad options, and only options that will surprise your pallet with exquisite Mediterranean flavors.
A few of the plates that never disappoint in Ca La Brasa is the Monkfish fried with garlic, the Sea Bass, and the shellfish of the day. They use traditional methods to conserve the aroma and their own flavors of their plates within the restaurant.
If you want to enjoy delicious appetizers, we advise you start with the squid croquettes, some mussels al cava and then a good vegetable barbecue with romesco sauce.
Obviously, you cannot miss out on a good grilled steak where the Ca La Brasa chef has perfected the texture of the meat that simply melts in your mouth after one bite; made for a refined taste and extremely hard to perfect.
You also cannot leave without trying the desserts that also pass through the roaster just like all the other plates! The cheesecake with goat cheese and fresh strawberries is an authentic delicacy that surprises you with their novel and delicious combination.
It is definitive that Ca La rasa takes us back to the culinary origins that claim well known simplicity, one of today’s grandest luxuries.
