Found in Barceloneta, Can Maño is a traditional fishermen’s restaurant, as its menu always reflects what the sea has to offer that day. Their reputation for fresh fish is upheld by anything you want to try: cuttlefish, prawns, mullet, squid, shrimp, anchovies and calamari are all fried or grilled with garlic and parsley to the point of perfection.
Don’t worry if seafood isn’t your thing – there are seventeen classic and delicious combination plates for you to choose from. The breaded eggplant and peppers are a delicacy.
If you want to snag yourself a table don’t wait until the last minute. Go by 1pm for lunch and 8pm for dinner – of course, you’ll have to wait no matter what, but it’s part of the experience and your food will be worth the wait.
The hand cut bread, handwritten bills, fans, paper tablecloths and the crowd all add to the charm of Can Maño.
