Spirals of dulce de leche, cheese cake or Nutella … About ten months ago Oriol, after a trip to Vienna, found the inspiration that made him finally embark on what had been his great dream: to create a Rolls store, adapted to the Barcelonian style. With a self-taught and entrepreneurial spirit, Candela Canela Rolls was created, an establishment that does not leave anyone indifferent and has no issue with attracting a wide variety of customers.
After contemplating more than 80 ideas to find the ideal concept for his business, he finally chose to create multifunction wooden cubicles in symbology with the much acclaimed Roll. With that, a sweet paradise was born. It also specializes in good coffee and tea to accompany these rolled sweets, revolutionizing the concept of typical cafeteria.
Its offer is based on a simple yet complex recipe. The rolls are made with water, milk, organic sugar, salt, yeast, egg, and organic flour, with a filling of brown sugar, cinnamon and natural margarine. It is a slow process, lasting two days and including a triple fermentation. After the rolls are fermented, they then spend time in the fridge, and are finally presented in display trays, treated like luxury jewelry. With Candela Canela Rolls, you already know the number of calories that await you and that’s why Oriol constantly proposes new, magical combinations that surprise you.
The best thing is that they are served hot, with many options such as the dulce de leche roll, cheese cake with blueberries or raspberries, white chocolate, dark chocolate, apple pie, and banana or Nutella, among others.
You can find their specialties in the workshop, but if you want to enjoy a complete gastronomic experience you can also find some of their “special” combinations in some restaurants and bars like the Guayaba roll (with ginger and lime) in El Tarantín restaurant in Barcelona .
And if you do not have time, or if you’re loitering on your couch and do not feel like leaving home but want to enjoy these tender, juicy and highly addictive Rolls, a take-away service is also available.
