Located in Hotel Melía in the Sarrià district, this gourmet cheese bar is something new for the people of Barcelona.
The fresh and young space is centered around a large communal table that allows both an intimate yet social culinary experience. A vertical garden area contains marble, natural oak, copper and carefully selected textiles to convey an honest and natural environment.
Cheeso aims to be an open space for the members of the neighborhood as well as a gathering place for anyone in the city. Anyone who enjoys conversation with friends, needs a break from work, or sees the fun in brunch is welcome. Cheeso’s menu changes weekly to keep their customers entertained, but is always crafted with the cheese-lover in mind.
Cheeso was made for people that can appreciate the quality of simple ingredients, healthy food, and modern techniques. Well-known dishes include monkfish suquet, Iberian ham with coca de Folgueroles and tomato, homemade croquettes with Iberian ham, a cheese board with Catalan and international cheeses, or an Iberian sausage board. Cheeso also offers simple yet sophisticated dishes like grilled vegetables with scamorza, marinated bonito with yuzu mayonnaise, a Peruvian sirloin, and the unforgettable ribeye carpaccio with “tartufata” and tomato.
We highly recommend leaving room for dessert and trying Cheeso’s selection of pies. Start with the carrot cake or the cheese cake and, if you enjoy salty desserts, try the cake flowing with Idiazábal cheese and quince.
