Vermouth has always been a very special tradition in Barcelona, but in recent years it has become even more fashionable. The creators of Collonut, Arnau Barba and Alberto González, after many years of experience in the restaurant business, bet on that trend and hit it very well. Just a year after its opening, the bar has become a meeting point for the inhabitants of the Sant Andreu district who come for a drink, to enjoy tapas and the authentic atmosphere of the local.
The bar has earned the confidence of its customers by offering products of very good quality: all the cheeses, the sausages, the preserves and, of course, the vermouth, are from suppliers of proximity. Some dishes have become its visiting card, so aim to put them on your list of things to try. Among them, the Collonut potatoes prepared in the form of thick chips and served with a homemade salsa, the different types of bikinis and, of course, could not miss a freshly made potato tortilla.
Also noteworthy is the wide variety of homemade croquettes. Arnau is the creator of Queen Croquette (you’ve probably seen his food truck at some fair with a huge line to try his croquettes). All the croquettes in Collonut are developed by the company. Among them you can taste the Iberian ham, squid, cod, Roquefort and many more that change according to the week.
The menu at Collonut is designed to share, so during the week it’s a perfect place to go after work, and on the weekends the Collonut bar becomes a real party. The locals gather to catch up, have a few drinks and have a good time in a casual atmosphere. On its shelves are more than 70 types of Spanish and foreign wine that can be bought by the bottle at a very affordable price, just like the vermouth and some of the products that are sold in bulk.
Without a doubt, it is a place that is worth going back to several times to try the entire extensive menu of tapas and drinks.
