Strolling through the multicultural Born neighborhood, we found this Mexican cevicheria, unique in its kind, in an increasingly chic Barcelona. From the creators of the Taqueria Tlaxcal, Costa Pacifico was born; a cevichería with its own name in which to enjoy the true charros flavors.
A culinary concept based on three inalterable pillars: Acidity, crispy and spicy . It is on this foundation where this small family business was born where Marc takes the helm of a ship that goes through the seas of the Pacific in search of culinary connections that we enjoy.
We immerse ourselves completely in an Aztec cuisine based on ceviches, aguachiles, toasts and tacos. A menu that shuns Peruvian origins; focusing exclusively on the authentic Mexican flavor.
And is that your menu is a true statement of intent. If you visit Costa Pacifico you know what you are getting into – to sweat spice, drink micheladas and enjoy a first-rate gastronomic offer in which the raw material acts as a protagonist. A meticulous selection of dishes that is run by Rodrigo, head chef of this ship .
We began our journey to the Pacific with a good dip: Oysters with clamato. We continued swimming as we devoured a corvina aguachile with fried apple and corn ; and we delighted ourselves with the star ceviche of the house, made with octopus, onion, avocado and pumpkin seeds . A mouthful of sea flavor that opens our appetite.
We continue with their weekly special – shrimp with garlic sauce. I hope they never leave! Followed by a tuna tataki with the three chilies with almond cream that made our legs tremble.
To finish busting the pants, a toast of red ceviche and a taco of chipirón with two types of mayonnaise (chipotle and serrana). To finish with something sweet, we had a Carlota de lima to reduce so much picantón made with condensed milk, lime and biscuit María.
This is Costa Pacifico, simply the best Mexican cevicheria in Barcelona. Orale!
