A bit of jazz bah doo bop bah doo bop bah … , very intense spices, a spicy twist and a casual space comprise Doobop – the Cajun cuisine restaurant in Barcelona.
The inspiration comes from Miles Davis’ latest album ” Doo Bop ” -this restaurant has opened its doors to jazz and gastronomy, paying homage to New Orleans cuisine. With a very southern musical background and an impressive welcoming rooster, helps you understand what this space can offer. Doobop is the place where you can go to eat, have a snack or enjoy a good beer.
Spicy, sour and sweet touches so characteristic of Cajun cuisine are not lost in any of their dishes. The fried green tomatoes with corn relish –crispy, slightly acidic, a little sweet, very fresh and light – is one of the star dishes on the menu. There are also Mexican touches, such as the fried mussel tacos, a very pleasant addition to the palate. The fried cod with homemade pickles are both juicy and crispy… And as you cannot miss the fantastic fried chicken, the main dish, that is very similar to the sweet and spicy chicken wings or the Chicken and Waffles with maple syrup and jalapeños, crispy, fluffy and very tasty.
Much of the menu is fried dishes, however the mixture of gluten-free flours allows you to feel light after the meal and eager to try all homemade desserts. The Pecan pie with vanilla ice cream is the perfect touch to end a very southern experience at Doobop.
