Maria and Ros are a vasco-catalana couple that moved to Madrid to make their dream of opening Dot Cafe Bar, a local bar where you can enjoy breakfast and snacks as well as vermouths and beer.
This local bar has a special essence and a clear philosophy. Maria and Ros were clear that their product of proximity had to reign others that surrounded. The majority of their products and ingredients came from stores in their neighborhood and those that didn’t were from producers in Madrid. For example, the fruits and vegetables, the bread dough of Dario and the sponge cake of Raquel.
The decoration has also been well-thought-out to draw you to enter and sit in their tables. Maria and Ros were there weeks before opening, working every day and working out the smallert details to assure that every corner of Dot was special. The tables, the chairs, the colors… all had meaning. Out of all the details in Dot, the ceramic plates, made by Maria, catch many eyes.
The menu is organized to where you can find something to eat at whatever time you decide to go. For breakfast you can enjoy a good cup of specialty coffee and accompany it with original biscuits made from mother dough like lavender, blueberries, pistachio, and cherry. Chai tea is also another drink that Maria is quite proud of, which comes from Madrid and parallels with the bar’s local philosophy.
By dinner time you will find bowls like the Bento, elaborated with black rice, ovened vegetables, avocados, green leaves, egg, and salmon. You can also find a mixed sandwich in which they saved every ingredient to make it the perfect sandwich. From Monday to Friday they also provide the Dot of the week where you can find places like tacos or cold creams.
In Dot, you can also enhoy the essence of the bar by enjoying your Gildas with the presence of vermouth or a sandwich with beer. On Thursday nights, Dot Cafe celebrates Pulled Pork night, the perfect day to enjoy this meat sandwich with Hoisin and red cabbage sauce accompanied by a beer.
Dot Cafe Bar is the perfect place to disconnect, to be with friends and enjoy a well-thought-out kitchen.
