Founded originally in 1896 in Vilassar de Mar, Espinaler originally began offering Moscato or Cazalla wine mixed with brandy or anis.  Very popular with the local fishermen at the time, the founder, Miquel, saw a vision for the future and started selling snuff.  In the 50s his grandson Joan introduced vermouth into their product range, a marinated white wine with more than 80 aromatic herbs.  In the 60s, things were not going well and they had to innovate, so they created the “salsa espinaler,” a sauce made primarily for seafood that is now a modern staple all over Spain.  Often imitated but never duplicated, Espinaler has stood the test of time.  Besides the nationally famous sauce, the brand has traveled all over Spain over the years to bring only the best preserves, including: anchovies, scallops, clams, mussels, squid, octopus, cockles, razor clams, sea snails, cuttlefish, sardines, bonito and tuna belly.  Now you can visit the award winning Espinaler shop and choose from over 5000 wines, preserves, cheeses, meats, and pates, paradise on earth.  There you can enjoy a vermouth with their mind-blowing Fideua, and you will taste the five generations and 100 years of toil that went into building such a great brand.
