A dinner at home, is what happens when Rico’s love of cuisine and the contagious restlessness of Irene are found. That in the end has to explode somewhere, and so it exploded, and created a project as interesting as this. Estamos Enrollados is not a restaurant to use, but quite the opposite. It’s like going to eat at your friends house, but while enjoying a luxury menu, which, like any house, changes every day.

Estamos Enrollados has tables shared by hosts and diners, and is a totally different concept than what we are accustomed to. Everything is developed in the dining room of the apartment of Rico and Irene. It’s a place with a unique charm, provided by the previous owner ad decorator of the house, Pepin Rico, a well-known and valued Sevillian artist. This dining room isn’t just the perfect setting for the most curious dinners in the whole city, but at the same time, it is a gallery of the works of the artist. Not to mention the curious tableware, handmade by Irene piece by piece. Turning it all at once into a more exclusive experience.

Outside of the rooms in the apartment, we also find an obligatory walk, and that is the block in which the house is located, is an old Sevillian Palace, with a beautiful Patio de los Naranjos, where you can breathe in the spring for almost the whole year. Another charming interior courtyard decorated with an Arabic-style fountain, making the visit not only a gastronomic experience, but also a cultural learning experience of the Sevillian architecture of yesteryear.

This project has gotten a lot of success since Irene and Rico started it in Barcelona, where they previously lived. At the original, the kitchen was developed in roll form; they only cooked makis, but always with different ingredients. Until little by little, the chef of the project, Rico began to innovate, and was adding different dishes to the menu. They decided to give it a try, adding to the menu what they have today: a modern kitchen with ingredients of the best quality that will not cease to surprise you.

This couple arrived in Seville just a few months ago, it was in November when they decided to take advantage of the charm of their new home, and opened the door; offering tasty menus like the one we had the privilege to try with them.

In our case we started with the fennel cream with black sesame seeds, light and temperate, perfect to open your stomach and settle your body at this time of year. Continuing with a mille-feullie of mango trinxat and smoked angula with vinegar of honey, lime and sesame. Completing the menu with a coulant of cheeks, dried apricot cream and truffle parmentier. They make sure that the menu they prepare is always balanced, combining their vegetable dishes, fish and meats.

This doesn’t imply that they don’t add the sweet touch, since the desserts that Rico makes are without a doubt the icing on the menu. This time they prepared a creamy avocado, chocolate and raspberries, whose combination not only pleasantly surprised us, but made us finish falling in love with them and the place.

It is important to emphasize that Estamos Enrollados is a project that only works under reservation, and that there is a closed menu. Irene will always be in charge of contacting the diners to make sure the taste will fit all.
