Calm during the day, fierce when night falls, we go into the wildest restaurant in Barcelona, where the elegance of a feline awaits us. The premium good taste is at a high at Feroz, the new restaurant that filled the emptiness that was left behind by its predecessor, the restaurant Tuset.
The kitchen is run by the Grup Olive –who is also present in the restaurants in Barceloneta, Barcelona, Milan or the haute Taberna Paco Meralgo – and have as the main objective to transmit their bohemian identity, an at the same time be elegant, enhancing the flavours and textures of Mediterranean cuisine, especially Catalan.
We’re talking about a restaurant with an extremely careful style in which every detail is measured to the millimeter. Every corner has its charm, and as we enter we are surprised by its gigantic pictures of feline animals that, to our surprise, when night comes the lights of the pictures change and transform the appeased felines into real ferocious beasts. The interior design revolves around a with between the modern and the old, separated between its two main rooms: day and night.
There is no lack of detail in the midday lounge: the paintings of English engravings are made specifically for the restaurant, the books rest in recreations of old bookshops and an abundant selection of plants cross the whole room transporting you to a fantasy universe. Feel free to try some of the dishes such as veal roast beef or the risotto with truffle, poached egg, parmesan cheese and tender beans.
Without a doubt, during the night, Feroz changes its appearance, so we moved to the main room where the atmosphere will be toned as midnight approaches. Its roof is covered by a layer of lights and the ambience invokes an old English room, perfect for having a few drinks after dinner. If you’re looking for something light, the foie with red fruits, pine nuts and raisins or the prawn roll will leave you well satisfied and with enough space for dessert, like the recreation of cheesecake with mango ice cream, or if you prefer something lighter, the black and white chocolate cake with strawberries. A real joy.
Gourmet dishes in a restaurant where the exquisiteness of the interior design is undeniable, making it Feroz. But it doesn’t end here; the two environments are open to the public, where you will see families during the weekends or young people enjoying cocktails at night accompanied by a DJ and good music to dance to.
