During the week, the rush and responsibilities can cloud our heads. Working in the city center does not always let us go home at mealtime, and in those cases, maintaining a varied diet becomes even more difficult. For these reasons, Green Up has surfaced from the ashes of an old bar-farm to offer us a healthy and affordable menu alternative, perfect for busy executives.
After many years developing in the mind of Gustavo, this project saw the light in the small corner of Sarrià Avenue. This young interior designer developed his passion for cooking by working for different restaurants and hotels in London and Barcelona, always looking for the exact moment and opportunity to create his own project.
There is no doubt that Gustavo knew how to combine his two passions in his new project. The interior space of Green Up, although small, is very well used and designed to move away little by little from the stress of the area. The terrace, surrounded by bushes, allows us to enjoy the outdoors without being interrupted by the bustle of the city center. Between the interior living room and the terrace we find a small outdoor bar and a sofa, perfect to enjoy a quick breakfast or lunch.
Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or a snack, the team at this restaurant is always prepared with the most healthy and delicious products. Early in the day we can enjoy an Acai bowl, juices or smoothies that will give us enough energy to overcome a Monday morning. During the midday we can choose between two options, the first is a cream of the day accompanied by a large personalized salad, and the second a cream or small personalized salad accompanied by a quiche or treat of the day.
The kitchen of Green Up is committed to fresh and local products. The menu changes weekly so that repeat customers can enjoy a wide variety of recipes without getting bored. All dishes are prepared at the time in the open kitchen, where the team unfolds with ease like fish in the water.
We sit at the bar with views of the outside, eager to start tasting the delicacies prepared by these young chefs. We started with the best-seller of the Green Up menu, the Bango shake, with mango, banana, oat milk, orange juice and chia seeds, all the vitamins necessary to overcome hardest day of the week. We also tried the Tropic juice , with pineapple, apple, passion fruit and mint, a fresh and energizing option, perfect for a morning without air conditioning in the office.
At lunchtime, among the creams, we opt for the most summery; a delicious gazpacho that smells and tastes like fresh tomato, with the exact texture that a gazpacho with just the right amount of acid as necessary. The alternative of customizing our own salad is also very tempting, especially with the variety of products they put at our disposal. We hit with a combination of lettuce mix, candied tomato, carrot, hummus, rolled almond, pomegranate, cucumber and olive sauce.
The quiches of Green Up are a safe bet, they are made with great care, from the dough to the filling, all homemade and balanced. Gustavo confesses that they did not dare to add them in the menu until they had the perfect mold to make them. Our favorite is undoubtedly the vegetables with curry, with the right touch of curry to flavor and enhance the flavor without monopolizing everything.
The whims of the day are dishes with the necessary balance of animal protein and vegetables. The Iberian secret with tabule is our favorite. The Iberian secret is in itself a very juicy meat and accompanied with the flavor of the vegetables and tabule – the combination becomes exquisite, it is a memorable dish.
Even at the time of dessert, we can ensure a delicious but light option. The sweet tooth can choose tiramisú al baylis, but those who prefer can have the alternative of strawberries with chocolate cream. Both desserts are perfect to end the lunch with a sweet taste in the mouth.
In this restaurant you will find a super personalized and very friendly service, which together with its economic and healthy menu, will make you feel at home. Green Up is the perfect choice to recharge at any time of the day and return to work feeling fresh and light.
