The guys from Eureka Street Food have joined forces with Juan, an inveterate music lover and a fan of that Californian style so ingrained in this tireless food truck that we see in all the shows.Gringa is called the new home of this pair of nomads who have finally managed to settle in a physical place, attracted by their goal of a sedentary life. A headline that proudly shine at the doors of this gastronomic sanctuary; that perfectly identifies the Mexican influence of Priscilla. A mixture of cultures around a consistent female image that perfectly describes what they do.
A spacious space, full of natural light and in the Raval neighborhood where they offer all kinds of morsels of California and Latin heritage. Here each dish is praiseworthy. A letter that intends to convey that Californian style par excellence of a couple of chefs of the world settled in our city. And this is what Gringa is about, offering Latin-style morsels in the L.A. style. A place that transmits good royo, know how to make and a lot of flavor.
As if we were in a stand in the streets of Los Angeles, we went to the counter and placed our order while we waited for a cold beer. The casual style of its members, a rogue gastronomic offer and its outstanding musical thread contribute to that street character that so shines among its four walls.
To open your mouth, the typical aperitif from the Latin zone of L.A, an ear of corn covered in lime, cheese and chili powder. And as is tradition, a round of Carnitas tacos with coriander mojo; and another of Criollo tacos with mango chimichurri. Gringa true to its roots.
Now we are going to what we are going; The Fried Chicken Bun! A hybrid between hamburger and sandwich served in brioche bread capable of teleporting to the very south of California. Fried chicken, cheddar, slaw of lombarda in lime, gherkins and chipotle sauce. An authentic time bomb that explodes in our palate leaving us impregnated with flavor, textures and aromas.
The sweet touch is made by his Pineapple Pa’la Niña, a pineapple marinated in rum with coconut ice cream. The end and point to an authentic trip through American territory. And if you’re from Brunch, here every weekend they have a good time with happy music and a Walk of Shame Brunch offer. This is Gringa, the little California of Barcelona.
