One of the most common tragedies in the world today is the closing of establishments that formed the foundation and character of a neighborhood. Or even worse, they’re inherited by big corporations and become stripped of every sense of identity that they ever had. Mr. Bonet, “Javi” to the customers, is the light at the end of their tunnel. He dedicates himself to protecting these classic spaces and restoring them to their former glory. Javi´s flat iron stove is never off, offering breakfast, churros, pastries or the much adored beef hamburgers served on bread made of artesanal dark beer served with fries or fried yucca. Like any decent watering hole, they serve great drinks. Try the gin and tonics or dry martinis!
