Sofía Boixet and Sergi Andreu – owners of one of our favourite restaurants, “La Pepita” – now bring us “La Cava,” a place where the vermouth flows for as long as you want it to.
Sergi, the chef, and Sofia, the soul of the place, are a couple with energy and talent. They always make you feel at home, and the fun begins as soon as you post up at the bar: “For us, our customers are almost an extension of our family. We like to make them feel comfortable and, above all, ensure that a good time is had by everyone,” Sofia tells us.
Oysters, mussels with pickles, artichokes with ham, seafood cocktail with octopus, marinated dogfish, roe, shrimp croquettes … these are just some of the appetizers that you can pair with your vermouth.
“There were many new things we wanted to try out with our appetizer menu. We make snacks from every day life but with a little twist, to make sure people enjoy themselves as much as possible during their ‘vermouth time’,” Sergi explains.
Upon entering you’ll see a long bar and a ton of nooks you can settle into with your beer and tapas. “We like people to stand in a group while enjoying their tapas, to be free to come and go as they please,” Sofia tells us. If you prefer to sit and be in a slightly more intimate atmosphere, they have a small dining room with marble tables and sofas where you can enjoy one of their cocktails.
