In the gastronomic street of Jorge Juan there is a restaurant that is an absolute classic for locals: La Paloma – a restaurant with more than 25 years of experience that offers market cuisine with French touches. The formula for success of this restaurant? A cozy space, with excellent treatment and the best raw materials.
Behind La Paloma are Segundo Alonso, head chef, and Mariano Ávila, head of the room. The origin of the name they chose for their restaurant has nothing to do with hunting (despite being one of their specialties). The name is a play on words. It is the combination of the first letters of the names of their daughters (Patricia, Lorena and Marta).
Decorated in blue tones, the restaurant stands out for its paintings of different styles that adorn its walls. Among the different paintings, one in particular stands out. A painting painted by Costa Vila that represents the lounge of the restaurant and which is used as decoration for the dishes of the restaurant. In addition, natural plants provide the touch of green needed by the space and also help to separate the different environments.
In La Paloma you will find delicate dishes, where quality raw material can be appreciated in every bite . Dishes such as cod marinated with basil and escalivada oil, artichokes with scallops or asparagus with truffle butter. The pumpkin flower with crayfish is a totally exquisite dish and the lobster ravioli with morels stuffed with foie is a dish that will make you salivate. One of its signature dishes is the oxtail with mashed potatoes, a dish that requires hours of preparation to make the meat completely juicy.
To finish the meal, its star dessert is the thin apple pie, a dessert that is presented with the silhouette of the pigeon and that dazzles all the guests.
La Paloma is a restaurant true to style and tradition. A restaurant with a lot of tradition and in which the funds have a lot of weight in the kitchen. The room team, always very attentive, and a winery with a wide variety of references to pair with its extensive menu of dishes will make your experience at La Paloma extraordinary.
