Rob and Peter met on the Lunda Street, when Peter started his journey into the world of cocktail bars. Little by little, the Scottish and English men adapted to their new Spanish lifestyle. They spoke of plans, projects and ideas that would enable them to settle in Barcelona indefinitely and decided to mount a cevichería-bar in the neighborhood of Poble Sec: Lascar 74.
The Lascar 74 is defined as “a blend of flavors and cultures that reflect the movement of ideas and people on the planet” and in particular, in the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona, Port Villa. These guys decided to start with a simple idea: a cevicheria. Once the concept was clear and defined “fish/oil/lemon”, they began to play with it. Their influences range from the Laksa, as Rob’s father is Malaysian, all the way to traces of Spanish food on their menu.
To start, we recommend the scallops, covered with a layer of Parmesan cheese, and continue with the King of the House, the ceviche. If we were forced to choose one, it would be between the “classic Ceviche Lascar” and the “Ceviche of the World”. Yes, the best way to spice up this meal is through the hands of Peter and his cocktails. These drinks have been assembled through many different experiments to continuously provide the customers with the best. In addition to the cuisine, the environment is very important for these two partners, and that’s why they chose Poble Sec for its international community and good vibes.
Lascar 74 is a cevicheria-bar for any occasion. In short, it is a place created with much love and passion. Stay tuned! In early June they will launch a new design with exclusive dishes, more wine… and fun!
