When you enter L’Atelier, you are immediately transported to the French industrial revolution. Every detail has been carefully recreated, from the photographs all the way down to the details in the fabric. It was these same decorations and details that inspired the name L’Atelier. “ We want to make something a little different than the rest, and give the same great service as a French bistro” said Marketing Director, Valentín Grapin, when asked about the restaurant.
Chef Vincent Tomassoni is the face of the kitchen, but he is not alone. Together, he and his team create the high quality products that are offered here. In addition to purchasing products locally, L’Atelier imports several products, such as their Angus beef, directly from France. As for fish, Tomassoni draws from cooler regions of the sea, such as Barcelona or Galicia.
In addition to fresh meat, 90 percent of the vegetables on the menu are completely organic, farmed by the owner himself. It is important to L’Atelier to not only have a warm atmosphere, but also the best ingredients. For 15 euros you can enjoy the menu of the day, which includes an appetizer, entrée, dessert, bread and a drink. We encourage you to try l’Onglet, complimented with spectacular candied shallots and puré. Other noteworthy menu items include foie mi-cuit with fig chutney and crunchy shrimp with mango sauce.
If you’re looking for the perfect taste of France in Barcelona, L’Atelier is it.
