If you were to characterize Leka as a person, you would say call it friendly. This is because when you dine at Leka, you are dining in the home of many of the staff. Literally.
Several members of the staff at Leka live in the same building as the restaurant, mere floors above where they pour their heart and soul into everything they cook.
Located in Poblenou, Leka has always been a family-run business. Iván Enriquez is the manager of the restaurant, and his brother, Ernest, is the head chef. Iván found his way into the kitchen through his mother when he was 18 years old. After working for many years at the Canet de Mar hotel, she decided to open her own restaurant.
Some of the most treasured dishes on the menu include fried yucca with guacamole and muscles flavored with ginger, mint and basil. Monday through Thursday the menu del dia is 12.50 euro. Friday and Saturday you can eat a la cart from other various menu options, including hamburgers and grilled calamari marinated in salsa kimchi.
