L´Entrecote Café de Paris recently opened their doors in Madrid, with the legendary reputation of their sauce preceding them.
The sauce consists of butter and spices, and the recipe has been a well kept secret since its invention in 1930. It’s reached mythical status with the classic entrecôte and french fries made in pure French style. A simple dish that was born in a bistro in Geneva. This flavour full of history has arrived in Madrid, next to Retiro Park. An ambiance that conserves the smell, colours and the bohemian vibe of the original Genevan bistro, where you sit and are transported as you taste the meat – done just how you like it – bathed in their magical sauce. It comes accompanied by a salad and their thin and crispy french fries, which you can refill as much as you like. Their dessert menu is also famous thanks to their long and prosperous history, and contains classics like creme brulee, mascarpone, an apple puff pastry and a cheese board. They also have a good and varied wine menu to accompany your meal.
What more can we say? To quote Paul Erdman from The Last Days of America: “We went to Cafe de Paris in Geneva that has the best entrecote sauce of any eating place on earth”.
