Stop for a moment, disconnect from what you are doing and think about what your dream is, because what would we be without them? We fight for our dreams, and we get up every morning to achieve them. Judit and Jay dreamed of a cafe – a space that reflected everything they want: pure nature, sympathy and sweetness with the character of a traveler. Little Fern Café is their most personal project in which they have put their souls into with great enthusiasm. A dream come true a few months ago and now may become the best new cafe in Poblenou.
Judit was born in Hungary, Jay in New Zealand and both are passionate about gastronomy, breakfast and brunch, and have traveled often, tasting brunch dishes from around the world . First they soaked up the most unique flavors, tasting incredible recipes from all over the world, and now they want you to know their secrets and delight in the best brunches, as they did. Have you tried the Corn Fritters? Sweet corn fritters with avocado, cherry tomato sauce, crème fraîche and beet marmalade ; or your Bircher bowl of apple, cinnamon, poached pear, dried fruit crumble and Greek yogurt. Or try the more typical dishes, such as pancakes, with avocado, cashew nut and sweet chili sauce. Great!
Although they fell in love with Barcelona as soon as they arrived, they both wanted Little Fern Café to have a piece of their homes: A fern is a typical tropical plant from New Zealand, a name that conveys its philosophy perfectly: natural with organic products (such as eggs, cheese, bread or chicken) or even their homemade products, such as granola, coconut and chia pudding or dried fruit crumble. Their homemade Granola bowl with passion fruit, Greek yogurt, rhubarb compote, red fruits and coconut chips is perfect for those who enjoy a sweet brunch. In addition, on weekends in the afternoon, you can delight yourself with typical New Zealand dumplings to clear your mind after your workday.
And if you’re looking for dishes to accompany their juices, such as Apple, Carrot + Ginger or Watermelon and Raspberry, their homemade banana bread, caramelized banana and vanilla ice cream will leave you speechless!
Without a doubt, there is nothing better than discovering charming places where passion and effort are reflected in every detail. Welcome to Little Fern Café, come in and enjoy.
