A burger house? With Argentinian food? And slow food? And who is Lucy anyway?
Lucía and her partner Jose are the owners of Lucy’s Burger House in the the center of Barcelona. Lucy’s gives absolute priority to the concept of slow food: the importance of eating slowly, prioritizing the quality of all ingredients and their origins, and mixing textures and flavors to create unique combinations.
Although the restaurant gives much attention to local ingredients, it also focuses on Argentinian influence. Jose uses his experiences from Argentina as well as New York to create new adaptations of traditional cuisine.
The menu emphasizes wagyu meat from Burgos, Argentinian beef, and Galician meats. All three meats can be enjoyed in entrecôte, tartar, carpaccio or a hamburger. Their raw materials come from high quality, local producers. Vegetarian dishes include a mushroom risotto with truffle shavings, a spinach cannelloni with pine nuts, a tomato and avocado carpaccio, fried eggplant, or their wide variety of salads. There are up to 10 different hamburgers, including meat, fish (tuna or salmon) or a vegetarian alternative. A Lucy’s staple are the fries, served with three sauces: chimichurri, brava and aioli.
