It has been a long time since hotels were spaces where clients went only to sleep but the Hyatt Centric Gran Via Hotel is an example of an establishment that has more to offer. Located in one of the most relevant areas of the capital, the Hyatt is committed to the mixing of its local Madridians as well as tourists. They are open to anyone wanting to enjoy a drink, a good coffee or a delicacy of the Spanish kitchen.
This large space is presided by a bar in which specialty coffee co-lives as well as more than 10 vermouths and the combinations of each drink with genuine recipes. This serves as an introduction to the proposal of Ondas: Vermutería + Lounge. Two illustrious surnames revitalized the ‘cat’ spirit, recovering the vermouth as a habit and a temptation for those who near the bar with Spanish, Italian or even German influence.
Perfect for alternating with products that our home habits and locals will not miss and introducing then to our international visitors. This restaurant is not short of tortilla de patatas or jam, you also cannot leave this establishment without a taste of the cheese plate, the pickles or their cod in oil, making up a solid portion of a menu that is worth enjoying.
Although we have not only come to eat at Ondas: Vermutería + Lounge, the drink menu calls you from the bar with it’s classic preparations like Ana Torroja cocktail, a base of Lillet, red vermouth, Aperol y mashed beet, or the Café Ye-yé, that is prepared with vodka, Tía María liquor, vanilla creme and coffee, which in Ondas is a specialty of Barcelona’s Café de Finca. Ondas Olé also deserves a special mention, which has tomato juice, white vermouth, truffle, sesame and a bloody mary mix, perfect for those who enjoy a fresh, original drink that is affordable (on average about 12 euros per glass).
Along with those are 5 more creative options, that co-exist with classic cocktail influence like the Manhattan, the Margarita or a nice Dry Martini, making exist the best of the modern day drinks and the iconic drinks in the same space. While the bartenders are shaking their cocktails, other multidisciplined protagonists arise like a Ferrari of the coffee makers, of which almost 20 distinct coffees wait patiently for you. From the classic American coffee to the legendary Irish coffee.
Perfect to pass a complete day in Gran Via and discover that the cocktail bar, the quality coffee, and the hotels have a lot of life.
