In a bright dome in the middle of Victoria Park with beautiful views of the lake, we found one of the best spots in East London – Pavilion Cafe & Bakery.
A calm and agreeable ambiance mixes with the smell of coffee and freshly baked bread. From 8am until 4pm you can enjoy any of their star dishes or artisan sweets accompanied by a good coffee, tea or fresh juice. All their products are artisan and locally sourced; many of their suppliers are part of the renowned Borough Market, one of the finest markets in the capital.
The menu reflects every season of the year; it’s put together from organic ingredients with the goal of creating simple dishes with impeccable execution. The menu also has options for vegans, celiacs and diabetics. The prices hover around 5-10£ for a plate and 1-3£ for a drink.
Throughout the day they offer sweet treats like cinnamon rolls, cupcakes and cookies along with savoury snacks like the classic English breakfast (eggs, sausage, beans …), benedict, florentine, royale or scrambled eggs, toast with avocado and egg, and all kinds of sandwiches.
The coffee is another star product. A team of baristas dedicate themselves exclusively to serving coffee of the highest quality, made with an artistic touch that deserves admiration. A wide range of teas and natural juices, like the apple and beetroot, round out the beverages menu.
The crystal dome bathes the interior in light and through the large windows you can enjoy the vast landscape. The space has a minimalist and rustic decor. Wood finishing, huge blackboards with the detailed menu, fresh and colourful flowers and the bell ringing from the kitchen makes Pavilion a comfortable and familiar place.
Sundays you’ll see the line from afar, as everyone wants to enjoy their brunch, and when the sun’s shining you can’t imagine a more perfect plan.
