Since Picnic was born in 2010, Tara Penke and her chef hubby Jaime Riesco, after extensive time spent in the hospitality industry, came up with the idea of serving intercontinental tapas, where the only Spanish items were the raw ingredients and the wines. To most that have been to Picnic, one thing stands above the rest: the fantastic BRUNCH. Choose from many amazing options: the eggs Benedict, the hash browns with potato and quinoa, the splendid fried green tomatoes with corn salsa and cheese, the pulled pork sandwiches, the spicy mexican huevos rancheros with guacamole, or even mini pancakes to share. Wash it down with pink lemonade or one of their patented Chipotle Bloody Mary’s. In the hot Barcelona summer, their breezy terrace can be a godsend especially at night, where you can also reap the benefits of the fact that it’s dinner time. Try the kangaroo steak with the mini falafel, the Onglet with pepper sauce, or the grilled squid with chickpea salad. They also have a fair selection of desserts – we highly recommend the peanut cake, straight from the USA! And there’s more, they also have an amazing basement for groups and private parties. During the week, multi-course menu for 12 euros. American portions for American prices.
