The final weekend before summer break brings us many daytime plans, like the new edition of Brunch in the Park that’ll feature a concert from Marco Carola, among others. Plus, this weekend will be complete with film screenings for the whole public. Are you up for it?
THURSDAY, July 27
“Free movies at the beach”
Tonight, we have a date with a summer screening at the beach. Like every Thursday, we can enjoy cinema in the fresh air on the Sant Sebastià beach in Barcelona. An event that calls to curious people and film fans alike for a quality summer night.
This time, we’ll be able to enjoy Sing Street, an Irish film that’s been nominated for a Golden Globe award for best comedy or musical. A short film that takes place in Dublin in the ’80s when Conor, a teenager who suffers a change to his comfortable lifestyle immerses himself in rock music and forms his own band. A feature film from John Carney that’s more than recommendable. A youthful comedy that’s entertaining and funny.
It’s a special night that calls for a picnic on the beach, but if you prefer to adventure through a particularly emblematic neighborhood of Barcelona and snack on something from the numerous bars here, we leave you with our selection of the restaurants and bars of Barceloneta.

The best cinematographic productions return, thanks to the Sala de Montjuic, many people’s favorite outdoor cinema event. Sala de Montjuic brings us a selection of the best films from now and forever, the possibility to have a picnic with friends or as a couple, and a series of concerts before the short film.
This Friday, we’ll be able to enjoy The General, starring Buster Keaton — a silent film with captions in Spanish. The film narrates the life of Johnny Gray, a southern train engineer, and his romance with Anabelle Lee and a locomotive (The General). The feature film centers on the period of economic recession, back in 1861, when Johnny tries to enlist. Without a doubt, a classic in film world.
