A weekend in which many join the wave of activities, like the Hotel Brummell or the Sala Apolo. Plus, the cinematographic projections of “Cinema a la fresca” continue.
THURSDAY, July 20
“Fiesta Mayor Poble Sec”
Like every year at these high points, the popular festivals of the Poble Sec neighborhood are here. One summertime event full of popular activities, concerts, and social events. From July 14 until this Saturday, the 23rd, we’ll be able to enjoy the multitude of musical and culinary events in the renovated Poble Sec neighborhood.
After the success of their neighbors in El Raval, they’re not about to be overshadowed, and they’ve put together something good for both locals and curious people who want to pass through here. An agenda full of so many plans, it’ll be difficult to choose. Our recommendation? Let it carry you. Just show up here, and the neighborhood’s own rhythm will bring you from one side to the other.
And if you want to spend a whole day in the neighborhood, you can visit some of the many restaurants you’ll find in Poble Sec.

“Cinema lliure a la platja”
On another night, we’ll have a date with movie screenings in the summer on the beach. Every Thursday, we can enjoy films in the fresh air on the Sant Sebastià beach in Barcelona. It’s an event that calls out to curious people and cinema aficionados alike for a quality summer night.
In this occasion, we’ll be able to enjoy a Brazilian film that centers around the traditional northeastern part of the country. A trip to Brazil, where their lives revolve around animals. This Thursday, you’ll be able to see Boi Neon, a film by Gabriel Mascaro.
One special night that encourages going on a picnic on the beach, but if you prefer to adventure around the most emblematic neighborhood of Barcelona and snack on something in one of the numerous bars here, we’ll leave you with our selection of restaurants and bars in Barceloneta.

FRIDAY, July 21
“Sala Montjuic”
The best cinematographic productions return along with the “Sala Montjuic,” many people’s favorite film offering. Sala Montjuic brings us a selection of the best movies from now and forever, the possibility to have a picnic with friends or as a couple, and a series of concerts before the short films to arrive with your mouths open.
This Friday, we’ll be able to enjoy the acclaimed Quentin Tarantino film “The Hateful Eight,” which returns to the big screen of the Montjuic Castle, as always, in its original version with English subtitles. A summer film full of first-rate cinematographic offerings.

“Festa Major Sala Apolo”
As a result of the festivals in the Poble Sec neighborhood, the Sala Apolo concert hall wouldn’t be able to be overshadowed, and it has put together a program complete with concerts, performances, and popular activities.
Even the reaction to the Fiesta Mayor of their neighbors in El Raval, we go into other popular festivals in which the Sala Apolo has organized with special invitatons throughout the whole weekend. Friday and Saturday, there’ll be a schedule full of good music, karaoke for the more brave among us, and including dance competitions. It’s all a little to celebrate the most fun-loving neighborhood in Barcelona.
So cheer up and come by here. If you enter hungry, you’ll be able to try one of the sandwiches of La Porca. It makes our mouths water just thinking of it.

“Pool Party Hotel Brummell”
If you still don’t know the most trendy place in Poble Sec, this is a good time to come by and explore the Hotel Brummell and try its delicious restaurant/cocktail bar, Brummell Kitchen. A location with a style that goes along with the popular Poble Sec neighborhood festivals.
Throughout the whole weekend, we’ll be able to enter and take a quick dip in their idyllic pool to the rhythm of the music. This is how to enjoy one of the exquisite cocktails or try their great culinary offerings.
Nonstop DJ performances and concerts throughout the whole weekend at Hotel Brummell. It’s totally free, but be aware of the hotel’s limited capacity.

SATURDAY, July 22
“Festival Era”
The Festival Era is back, so get your friends together because this Saturday, it’s going to be big. It’s been a year already since this experience, in the middle of nature in an idyllic location that doesn’t have anything to envy from other international festivals.
The new edition of this festival, like every year, will take place in Llagostera, in the middle of the countryside, in a fantastical country house where we’ll be able to enjoy the best music and company possible. Reserve your spot on the bus and add yourself to the list of party-goers. Although, if you prefer you can always take a car, bring a tent and a bag, and camp for free in the outskirts of the festival, like at Glastonbury.
This year, we’ll hear artists like Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, Cala Vento, Dark Sky, and many others in charge of livening up our night. We’re not going to miss it — what about you?

“Van Van Market”
One more time, the caravans park in Barcelona as a result of the new edition of the Van Van Market, which this time will be in the Plaza Mayor de Nou Barris. Moreover, in this occasion we’ll be able to enjoy a concert from Nación Funk All Stars on Saturday, the 22nd.
A popular event that fuses first-rate culinary offerings and the best food trucks with the top street food in Barcelona. An impressive culinary meeting where we can find a wide variety of different foods, like Mexican, Asian, Mediterranean, and Indian. All this, plus a series of concerts to liven up the evening and those of us attending.
