PLAT ÚNIC, A Different Option and Invitation to Good Food

How does one stand out among the great and varied offerings that exist in Barcelona? Plat Únic has succeeded in creating a different concept of restaurant that recovers and pays tribute to the old carriageway fondas – places characteristic of when traveling to another pace and where passengers savored a succulent hot dish to alleviate the hardness of the journey.

They have managed to recreate this concept of a traditional inn within the Yurbban Hotel, taking classic dishes and turning them into a thing of excellence.

The philosophy is based on tradition, proximity and local products, which are the keys to the success of Plat Únic. These are very traditional values ​​and contrary to fast-food, favoring the meeting at the table, eat happily together, knowing when you arrive, but forgetting when to leave.

Ordering wine is extremely characteristic to this place: behind a large piece of furniture is a huge wine tap hailing the anthem “let it vi” thus paying tribute to the wine in bulk and the wines from La Terra Alta. Customers can refill wine jugs as many times as they wish.

While preparing the main course, delicious olives with red mojo, some piparras and a spongy bread help shorten the wait.

The specialty of the moment is Galician blonde cow ribs, accompanied by delicious scrambled mushrooms as well as beetroot carpaccio with a series of sauces such as green mojo, fresh mustard and juice of the rustido that gives a tasty touch to the meat. 

Dessert? The perfect end to a delicious meal with a sweet touch: a chocolate mousse with a creamy texture that melts in your mouth.

Galician cow ribs, which have been an option since May, will be replaced on December 1 by another dish with a great tradition behind it.

Even being inside a new and modern space such as the Hotel Yurbban, the walls of Plat Únic give off a classic and traditional spirit.

And if you want to finish off this delicious meal with a drink and wonderful views of the city, you only need to go up to the Yurbban terrace on the seventh floor; the absolutely perfect way to end the evening.
