A friendship between three girls and the same passion for good cuisine, are the ingredients that are necessary to make Platerets.
Ikerne, Eva and Montse put effort into making you feel at home. It all started 14 years ago, when they started to meet for wine and cooking, after a couple of drinks the idea of creating a space between the alleys of the Gracia neighborhood where they live was born.
Eva prepares each dish in the same way that she cooks her best friends, with passion, just like the first day she entered a kitchen. She reveals that her secret is to give the best treatment to each product and always have good bases such as stir-fries, broths and stews. Ikerne smiles at everyone who enters and invites them to feel at home. Montse is linked to the Grup Roma, a family meat group where the excellent Ral pork comes from, which is a pig that feeds on traditional cereals and is raised without haste.
Some dishes to begin with are the burrata with candied tomatoes, basil and Kalamata vinaigrette or the salmon with ponzu sauce – this being one of the star dishes. At each table there always have to be a couple of croquettes , at least, and some Iberian glazed ham, as creamy as those of the yaya .
To continue sharing, try the beef cheeks from the oven, the crispy cod morro with honey or the sweet and sour Ral rib of pork. There are always specials of the day such as meatballs stewed with potatoes – a dish that you cannot stop asking for. And to finish with a sweet touch is the trio of chocolate, orange, raspberry and cacao truffles, all of which are homemade.
For half the day you can choose between some dishes that are constants on the menu or some prepared day-by-day.A place where good cuisine and friendship have come together – do not forget to ask for bread and clean every last drop of the dishes!
