It opened not even six months ago but has already become an obligatory stop in the Gracia district. If you walk past, you’ll probably want to see what’s going on inside. For those who have not yet gone to Sabio Infante, we warn you that coffee is their specialty, coffee that, if mixed with milk, is sweet enough that you don’t need extra sugar. And if you like brunch more than anything else in the world, you already have a new place to add to your Google Map favorites.
Through the large window, the warmth and familiarity of the local is perceived. We moved to 1950s Latin America, a world governed by a contrasting set of colors where no piece of furniture is alike. Elisa is the decorator, and from the first moment she wanted green to be the dominant color: wherever you look you will see a beautiful green contrasting with vibrant yellows, blues and pinks. But let’s get to the point, what you need to know to fill your stomach and enjoy a good brunch to repeat and come back again.
The menu is simple and has all the right things to make it succeed: the the dishes are known by all but have a special touch that will surprise you, as is the case with the Benedict Bun inside a loaf of brioche. We continue with the casserole of infinite eggs with sautéed peppers, a dash of spicy, spinach, greek yogurt and herb oil served with toasted bread. We finish brunch with the sweet touch of their Pancakes Galantes with greek yogurt and chocolate or maple syrup.
If you prefer to come at 5:00pm and stay until nighttime, they also have a menu for snacks where they emphasize their Generous Nachos with queso and mango guacamole, cilantro and sour cream. They don’t forget their vegan customers with proposals such as the Incredible Vegan Table with Muhammad (a cream of pepper), and basil and lime hummus with baby vegetable, accompanied by pita bread.
Sabio Infante has adapted to the popular demand of Gracia, a very familiar neighborhood that was clamoring for a cafe where children could have fun while their parents enjoy a coffee and relax in a good atmosphere. But you prefer something calmer, we recommend the live music performances on Friday and Saturday nights.
