Jordi Miralles opened Senyor Vermut just over a year ago, and it’s already a must see of the city.
Senyor Vermut has been one of the best places to get a cocktail in the city since it opened. The friendliness and warmth of the place can be felt as soon as you cross the doorway, and their large selection of vermouth (more than 40 different kinds) and distillates makes it easy to find something you enjoy. Jordi’s knowledge of the latest drink trends in Barcelona is almost endless. The drinks are paired with some of the best tapas you can get – the bravas, pork shoulder, squid and anchovies are all excellent. Variety, quality and quantity are the secrets to Senyor Vermut’s success.
Unlike other trendy places, your wallet doesn’t suffer because of their success. If your drink leads to dinner, you don’t have to worry about breaking the bank. The house vermouth is amazing, but if you want something a little more exotic try an Italian vermouth like the Carlo Alberto Reserve or Cinzano 1757. They also make great cocktail classics like Manhattans and Negronis.
All this and more is found in Eixample, close to the Hospital Clinic. Even if it’s crowded, with a little patience and cunning you’ll end up finding a gap in the crowd, and once you make eye contact with Jordi you’ll already feel at home.
