Servicio Continuo is a hybrid between a restaurant and a late night cocktail bar. It is both a restaurant focused on quality beverages and a cocktail bar focused on quality food.
The restaurant is owned by three close friends: Khaled Abbas, Francisco Boada and Nacho Alegre. Since childhood they have shared the dream of owning their own place. And, after much time searching, they found the perfect location on the corner of the Avenida Diagonal and the street Bruc. The space is inspired by English gentlemen’s clubs, classic cocktail bars in Vienna, and bars in the Port of Hamburg. To create this warm feeling, the space combines materials like brass, marmoreal cork and blue marble.
Another thing the three partners agreed on was the man in charge of their kitchen. Carlos Yáñez, former chef of Santa Burg, has created a menu of international food with Asian, French and New York touches. Some surprising dishes include: green curry mussels; Pedro Ximenez chicken pâté with pickled onions; or low-temperature, Cantonese-style ribs with sautéed broccoli, green pistachio and a creamy Dijon with herbs. Don’t miss the dry aged steak with hand cut, double fried potatoes or the dim sum, perfect for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.
The cocktails are based off the classics. Nacho Alegre explains, “Our goal is to serve a classic and quality cocktail, always open to variations but against any elaborate or excessive additions.” Novelties include alcohol-based granitas like the Sunset (vodka, lychee, ginger and mint) and the Frozen Daiquiri.
Servicio Continuo is open to dine Tuesday through Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2:45 a.m., perfect for late nights or late-night cravings. Francisco Boada explains, “We wanted a place in Barcelona where the kitchen doesn’t close and you can meet after an event to have dinner or have a drink with friends or clients.”
As the owners say: “Servicio Continuo is a place you go to have dinner and end up drinking and a place you go to drink and end up having dinner.”
