To eat in record time without eating fast food and not breaking the bank is not easy. In a touristic city, you can also find a place where quality, speed and cheap price come together.
In a tiny place on Rocafort street, lies the best place to eat fish and chips in Barcelona. When you get to The Fish and Chips Shop, the first you ask for is not a dish but a turn. After eight months of opening, the shop gets their guests to wait to try their magical version of the staple British dish.
Magid’s recipes joins both diverse food with fried fish and hummus, which draws from Magid’s Pakistani origin. The crowd, just like the food, is very diverse by joining tie wearers and beard wearers alike. This just shows how the quality of the products must triumph over the mere fact that it is a trendy spot. There is a small selection of choices but the fusion of different ingredients is surprising.
You can wait for your cone of fish and chips, while eating fried edamame with truffle oil or hummus with papacham toast.
The fish and chips in itself is also very different. Instead of cod fish, Magid uses smoked hake that is fried in corn flakes. The chips are caramelized and become explosion of flavor instead of merely a side to the fish.
The Fish & Chips Shop is good if you are close by or you really want some fish and chips. It is unacceptable to miss this if you are up to date with the food scene in Barcelona.
