A few months ago, we presented its street version, and today we return to the restaurant, where The Sushi Room presents in the hear of Ruzafa, its most Japanese version. Luminous signage that contrasts with the old Japanese cobble, welcomes us to this place where you can get a lot of good flavor.
Taste of Japan, Thailand, Peru and Mediterranean. To all that don’t know The Sushi Room, far from what it tells us in the name, this restaurant is much more than sushi. How is it different from their other location just blocks away? The concept that they offer fusion food inspired by Nikkei cuisine: Japanese and Peruvian flavors, textures and smells – a perfect marriage for the palate!
If they both have something in common it’s the quality of the raw material they make each of their dishes with. Also the “Buenrollismo” and the professionalism that reign in the staff, both in the kitchen and the dining room – that way everything tastes better, is what they say.
What can we ask for at The Sushi Room? What is this Nikkei cuisine about? We opted for some of the most outstanding dishes on the menu: grilled octopus with yucca chips, purple potato and chives; yellow chili pepper, a classic of tiraditos, fine cuts of meagre, and tiger milk; classic ceviche with white fish, tiger milk, sweet potato, corn, red onion and court; sautéed tuna belly, quail egg and a crispy purple potato; acevichado, Gamba Furai, Japanese mayonnaise, avocado, smoked salmon topping, huancaína sauce and sweet potato shavings; and finally, tataki of tuna, marinated in soy with Japanese mayonnaise, crispy garlic and soy sprouts.
To finish, we needed the sushi artisans to surprise us with something sweet, and they did it: chocolate in textures. The perfect brooch for a different and unique experience in Valencia if you declare yourself an unconditional fan of Japanese cuisine. If you are a fan of green tea ice cream, the one they have here will surprise you.
But yes, in The Sushi Room they also offer very good sushi, we dare say the best in Valencia: sashimi, nigiri, uramaki, futomaki and hossomakies. You can’t go wrong with any of them, the hard part is deciding.
In our previous visit, we were told about a very promising future for The Sushi Room, in Valencia and in other cities such as Madrid in Barcelona.
