Every day Barcelona shows us one of its hidden secrets … Tipo Tapa is a space in the streets of the Clot district that is one of those pleasant surprises.
More than a year ago a young couple, Raquel Espada and Joan Planas, undertook Tipo Tapa, the project of their lives. This space seeks to serve in each dish the flavors of grandmothers cooking with a modern touch. A homemade philosophy characterizes this kitchen, full of flavors reminiscent of the cuisine of the “yaya”.
Products of season is the kitchen of Type Tapa, with changes its menu seasonally, but of course, always leaves some classics like the octopus to the “our gallega”, an octopus tentacle with parmentier of potatoes and truffle ; or the steak tartare with mustard ice cream , all made fresh with very balanced flavors.
The scallops with bacon are the perfect combination of sea and mountain, ask for bread because the sauce is amazing; the three textured artichoke with mushrooms (a seasonal dish), is the artichoke in all its forms, if you are one of those who loves the artichoke this is your dish. The pork legs are candied and boneless with foie, the duck cannelloni with mushroom and foie sauce or the ham croquettes, each one better than the other.
Desserts are not left behind, the chocolate coulant with butter ice cream, neither very sweet nor very bitter or the torrija with Catalan cream. The drinks list is always changing, but always with very interesting references such as natural, biodynamic wines or with stories to tell. Raquel and Joan have made Tipo Tapa their first home and in each corner you can see the passion and enthusiasm with which they built it and continue to do every day. Tipo Tapa is a kitchen with a lot of “chup chup” and flavor, go with friends who are eager to try delicious things.
